Behind the meaning of THC
Honeyed. was created from a place of craving. Born from a place of reclaiming life; A deep yearn to connect and outcreate what felt like an already paved path. That path we all know. The safe one. The easy one. The boring one.
The pressure of judgment and expectation was forcing me into a life of conclusion and it led me to ask myself: what would it take to have the life I want? I just always knew I had intense emotions and sensitivity that I wanted to share. My intention has always been to build connection. I wanted to build & nurture a community that values true authenticity and emotion that can be explored through aspects of art and travel, but also as a lifestyle. Being who you are, not the person someone wants you to be, or who you think you should be.
I began Honeyed. because I needed this space for myself. A space to create freely, to block out the noise. I needed it when I was a little girl, I needed it while I was growing up, and I still need it now. A necessary space for my inner child to grow, to play, and to heal. Growing up all I ever wanted was to feel less alone and creating this world helped me with that, and I so hope it does the same for you.
Honeyed. is about being in tune with the home inside yourself. Deriving from the meaning “to be coated with honey”- to be rich and sweet – like a community strung together by shared kindness.
Creating something that is of value to my heart, whether that be a piece of my art, or an experience I can share, helps me show up in a way that is organic and authentic. I truly love sharing life with people of good intention and I hope that reads true. Honeyed. is a space to heal. A space to learn, create newness, and question: what else is possible?
Honeyed. Is about finding the sweetness in life, and finding that there is still good. There is still light and that even if some things are “just the way they are” you don’t have to stay in that absolution. Recognize. Feel. let go.
Starting Honeyed.
I want to start off by noting that I’ve been sitting on this idea for such a long time. I knew there was something more out there for me, but I kept self-sabotaging and finding excuses for why it wouldn’t work; Why I have to stay where I am. Limiting my own potential got me nowhere and honestly, I was dragging my feet and running out of excuses. I needed a space outside of the things I’ve seen before and outside of the world that exists. Outside of all the absolutes that solidify conclusion, but also, a space I could call my own. Through years of reeling and fear of putting myself out there, I realized that at some point staying stagnant becomes a choice. Staying in the same life is what you are creating and with this, I came to recognize that I had the power to create what I actually wanted.
The hardest part sometimes is putting yourself out there, laying it all on the table. It’s vulnerable and in a world that doesn’t always value vulnerability, I want this to be a space where we can be vulnerable together. We are all capable of creating greatness. The biggest obstacle standing in our way of creating is ourselves.
Here you can explore other paths in life. Change your personal style, find a new place to travel, or start your own blog. A space where you can get your shit together. A place you confide in. A place to find organization, comfort and heart. A place to realize that the things you want are within reach.
I have so many ideas for this collective. I hope to create art that meets you where you are. This blog (and this life) is all about thoughtfulness and loving yourself. If you take away anything from this, let it be that *it* is possible. And the *it* is anything. It’s everything.
THC is a world that values authenticity and sensitivity. Honoring it in yourself and in others. When we choose to listen and accept rather than judge, the world beams and honey flows.
